This film contains the making of a playroom for
the children at Xiangtan Welfare Center. In this
film a speaker is giving information about the
welfare center. On the cassette there is also a
film about life at the welfare center with only
music as a background. In addition there is a
part with stillpictures from China, some other
welfare centers and orphanages in China and
especially also from Xiangtan. And there is also
a short film about Star of Hope in Asia.
This film is made especially for families who
have adopted children from Xiangtan Social
Welfare Center and who wants to see how the
children lived.
This gives a small insight.
With the film comes the Diary of Jessica
Eriksson who lived at the orphanage and
documented the making of the playroom in october
2000.
The film can be ordered in NTSC format which is
used in America and Canada and PAL format which
is used in Europe.

Philippines

Star of Hope has been working among the families
living on the dumpsites around Manila, the
capital of the Philippines, since 1981. Ever
since then thousands of children and families
have recieved food, clothes, schoolfees, houses,
yes a new life, future and hope. All of this
thanks to donors in Scandinavia.

In 1997 a famine disaster threatned to spread in
Bolgatanga in Northern Ghana, West Africa.
The inhabitants received help through Star of
Hope who gave them supplies to cope with the
long drought. Ever since then thousands of
children have gotten their education through
Star of Hope’s child sponsorship program. Come
along to Ghana and see how a disasters was
stopped from happening.

The Kärrsjö conferenc

Each summer the Tentmission (Tältmissionen) hold
a summer conference in Kärrsjö. Come along and
see glimpses from the summer of 2002 with a
singingcompetition among other things.

The World Tent (Världstältet) and the exhibition
Children of the same earth was held by Star of
Hope in Sollentuna in the spring of 2003, in cooperation
with Sollentuna Kultur och Fritidsnämnd (Sollentuna’s
Culture and Freetimeboard) and Edsvik artscentre.
More then
10 000 visitors participated between the 22:nd
of April to the 31:st of Juli 2003.
Schoolclasses booked studydays that permitted
them to participate in the program held in the
tent as well as see and experience the
exhibition.
The film includes an edited version of the
musical “Children of the same Earth” as well as
segments from the “Children’s Parliament” (Barnens
Riksdag) and the opening of the project.
All activities that children and teachers from
the school of Kärrdal activly participated in.
