Concordia College, Moorhead,
Minnesota, USA, presented Bachelor’s Degrees to
approximately 76 seniors during its commencement
ceremony at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 15 in Memorial
Auditorium. Bjørg Farstad, who is a 1994 Concordia
College graduate, delivered the commencement address.
Bjørg Farstad has been working for Star of Hope since
1986. Her speech was titled “Influencing the Affairs of
the World: A Food Package for Life.”
Bjørg Farstad is responsible for Starkids, working to
educate people and children about the realities of
children's living conditions all over the world and also
works with the exhibition “Children of the Same Earth.”
Located in Sweden, the exhibition is a hands-on
opportunity for children to walk through different rooms
that depict living arrangements and cultures in several
areas of the world.
Bjørg Farstad has been the Operations and Field Program
Director for Star of Hope, which operates on four
continents, and also working with Donor Relations and
Information. She has assisted in the creation of Star of
Hope organizations in many countries.
Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of
the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering 78
majors, including 18 honors majors, and 12
preprofessional programs.
